William "Bill" McCann

William “Bill” McCann, age 68, a resident of Shell Lake, died at his home on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

William was born on July 21, 1957, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to parents Harold and Lorraine (Dochniak) McCann.  While he was in the 6th grade, the family moved to the Webster area where he attended and graduated from Webster High School in 1975.  On September 29, 1978, he was united in marriage to Cindy Peterson in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. The couple then moved to their home in Shell Lake in 1986.  Bill worked for Horton Manufacturing, T&T Tool in Spooner, and lastly out of his home working on Motorcycles as Bill and Keith’s Motorcycle Shop.  He worked on and maintained motorcycles for the Buell Brothers who raced every summer on the Salt Flats in Utah.

Bill is survived by his wife Cindy, son William McCann of Shell Lake, daughter Katherine Hoy of Spooner, grandchildren: Lorelei , Steven, and Sabrina Hoy, brothers Dave (Penny) McCann of Danbury, Harold (Diane) McCann Jr. of Spooner, sisters Terri (Rich) Rossow of Webster, Lynn McCann of the Twin Cities, and many nephews and nieces.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brother Dan McCann and sister Kathy Jackson.
