William Kent Martinsen, 72, Hayward, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI. Bill was born on December 13, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio, to George and Margaret (Brunn) Martinsen. He graduated from Euclid Senior High School, a suburb of Cleveland in 1973.
After graduation Bill attended the Ohio State University for parts of two years. After leaving Ohio State he worked in marketing and sales positions. He then moved to California. While in California he followed his interest in the culinary arts, eventually attending a school in the Culinary Arts in California.
After the death of our parents in the mid 1990’s Bill moved to Hayward to be closer to family. He soon found employment in various restaurants in the area, to expand his interest and love of food preparation. Bill also loved to play golf, an affection he inherited from his father George, Sr.
Bill most recently was employed at the Boulevard restaurant in North Woods Beach, until health issues intervened a couple years ago. He valued the support of Bob Hammond and the staff at the Boulevard after his surgery and retirement.
Bill is survived by his brother George (Patricia) Martinsen of Woodbury, MN; niece Dr. Jennifer (Dr. Paul Brown) Martinsen of Columbia, SC.
Inurnment will be in the Village of Chagrin Falls Cemetery, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, at a date to be determined.
