William "Bill" Jarmuzek

William “Bill” Jarmuzek, age 64, of Sarona, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

William Leo Jarmuzek was born on July 13, 1962, in Hennepin County, Minnesota, the son of Leo and Donna (Wyttenback) Jarmuzek. Bill’s family moved often during his youth, but he was raised in Minnesota and attended school there. At a young age, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he earned his G.E.D., completed boot camp at Fort Knox, and served in Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall. As an M1 Abrams tank commander, loader, gunner, and driver, Bill carried out border patrol duties with the discipline, grit, and confidence that would come to define so much of his life.

After his honorable discharge, Bill returned to Minnesota and soon after began working at a respected marina on Lake Minnetonka, where the “Lady of the Lake” paddleboat was docked. There, he took on multiple roles, from mechanic to boat captain, proving early on that there was very little he could not learn, fix, lead, or improve. Bill later moved to Texas, where he operated a ranch and a potpourri factory near Dallas, as well as a location in Mexico. Eventually, he made his way to Menomonie, Wisconsin, where he worked for Carquest in automotive parts sales. His knowledge, drive, and unmatched customer service helped him build a loyal network of clients who would never forget the way he showed up for them.

Bill went on to serve as Assistant Parts Manager for Wisconsin Kenworth in Menomonie before joining Allstate Peterbilt Parts in Rice Lake, where he built a strong, successful team and helped grow a profitable business that earned the respect of many. He was an accomplished man by every measure; intelligent, capable, determined, and fiercely hardworking. If there was a problem, Bill could usually find the answer. If something needed to be done, he did it. He had the kind of work ethic that will be remembered and talked about for generations.

In 2004, Bill was united in marriage to Debra Haglund in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they lived in Menomonie, WI, then moved to Sarona, where they bought and operated Rolling Thunder RV Park and Campground. Away from work, Bill enjoyed four-wheeling, boating with friends and family, teaching his grandson to fish, caring for his three cats and one dog, feeding the deer, and taking trips to “Church,” as he liked to call the casino.

Bill was not a man who softened his words to make the room more comfortable. He was direct, honest, and known for his no-nonsense way of saying exactly what he believed. He had an extremely hard outer shell, and he was not afraid to call things as he saw them. Yet beneath that toughness was a man who cared deeply and showed his love through action rather than words. He took care of the people who earned his respect and love, and when he believed someone deserved his help, he would give all he had, often without needing thanks or recognition. His advice was sought because it was honest, his presence was respected because it was real, and his loyalty was felt most clearly in the things he did for others.

Bill is survived by his wife, Debbie; his son, Christopher Jarmuzek of Somerset, Wisconsin; his stepdaughter, Jessica Hintzman of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his grandson, Dominic Jarmuzek; his brothers, Steve (Kristie) Jarmuzek, Paul Arenz, and Jim Arenz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

A gathering celebrating Bill’s life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at Spooner Funeral Home.
