William H. Boetzer
William “Bill” Boetzer, age 72, of Spider Lake, WI passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
William Henry Boetzer was born October 20, 1952 in Eau Claire, WI the son of Arthur and Ingrid (Nelson) Boetzer. In 1965, Bill’s family moved to Hayward, WI when his parents purchased Havner’s Pine Crest Resort. He attended Hayward High School where he played football and basketball, graduating in 1970. Bill went on to Rice Lake Technical College where he continued to play basketball, earning a degree in business management. He then began a career in the lumber industry, working for lumberyards in the Hayward area for his entire career. Bill liked to hunt and fish and taking trips to Canada with family and friends. He also enjoyed building a home with significant other, Mary Schmidt and their beloved dog Abby where they could watch the deer and other wildlife.
Bill is survived by significant other, Mary; one brother, Arthur (Vicki) Boetzer of Bloomer, WI; one sister, Karen (Tom) Brokaw of Hayward, WI; nephew, Jason (Jody) Boetzer of Pioneer, CA; niece, Jen (Aaron) Boetzer Ellringer of Eau Claire, WI; and great nieces and nephews, Olive, Sy, Henry, Ira, Sam and Ingrid.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private committal service will be held for Bill at the Spider Lake Cemetery at a later date.
