Wayne Peterson Obituary

Wayne Peterson, age 74, a resident of Spooner, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner after a lengthy illness.

Wayne was born on January 6, 1947, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to parents Helmer and Gloria (Solberg) Peterson.  After attending Eau Claire North High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam era.  After his discharge, he moved to Minnesota and found work as a C & C Machinist in Minnetonka, where he met Lynn Finch.  They moved back to Washington State and were united in marriage on March 19, 2000, in Snohomish, Washington.  After their marriage, they continued to live in Washington where he found work as a semi-truck driver.  The couple moved to Spooner in 2005, where he enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels.  Wayne loved riding motorcycles, helping others, and will be remembered as a giving person who loved animals.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Spooner; children:  Sara Peterson of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, and Jacob Peterson of Burlington, Washington; 3 grandchildren:  Graci Lynn, Caleb Wayne, and Liam; brother, David Peterson, and sister Julie Hovde.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bryant.
