Wayne Harris Jr.

Wayne Eugene Harris Jr., age 83, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Tamarack Health in Hayward, WI.  He was born on October 23, 1942, in Ashland, WI, the son of Wayne and Beatrice (Eder) Harris Sr.  He was united in marriage to Beverly Irene Hessler on October 12, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward.

Wayne worked in logging camps when he was younger, moving from Minnesota to Montana and sever other states. He owned his own logging business, Harris & Sons Logging, for over 30 years.  He later opened Harris & Sons Enterprises out of his home, specializing in mechanics, body work and vehicle restoration.  Restoring vehicles was a pure passion for Wayne.  He also enjoyed the outdoors both hunting and fishing.  Wayne and Beverly loved traveling to local dirt tracks to watch their son’s races. 

He is survived by his children, Dawn Connell of Barron, WI, Holly (Bill) Schulz of Evergreen, CO, Wayne E. Harris III of Bloomer, WI and James (Angie) Harris of Colfax, WI; his grandchildren, Katy, Rachel, Joe, Austin, Jacob, Ashley, Emily, and Ely; his great-grandchildren, Avery, Malcolm, Camille, Cambrie and Carson; his sister, Sharon Kuschel of Frisco, TX; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly; and his brothers, Jack and Gary Harris.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
