Walter Weissgerber Obituary

Walter J. Weissgerber age 79, of Chicago, IL passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born January 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter and Gladys (Robertshaw) Weissgerber. He was united in marriage to Frances in November of 1978.

Walter was raised in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School. After school he went on to work at Chicago Faucet and later worked at the Messiah Lutheran School and Church. He enjoyed fishing and working on model trains and railroads and had a love for the Chicago Fire Department. He loved his trips to Hayward, WI with his family.

Walter is survived by his son, Edward (Sara) Weissgerber; his grandchildren, Anna and Lily; his sister, Gladys Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Walter is proceeded in death by his wife, Frances and son, Michael Weissgerber.
