Viola Phiffer

Viola Jane Phiffer, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Barnes ,WI on Monday, January 12, 2026.  She was born on January 17, 1943, in New York Mills, MN, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth Olsen.  

Viola was full of life and loved to travel to Jamaica and enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River.  She also loved visiting with friends and family, you could always expect a good laugh when Vi was around never missing an opportunity to dance especially when “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” was playing. 

She is survived by her children, Vicki (Christopher) Neumann of Mendota Heights, MN and Jeff (Sharon) Mathison of Lakeville, MN; her grandchildren, Christopher “CJ” (Mariah) Neumann, Samuel Neumann, Kelsey (Yosemite) Miller and Zach Mathison; and her great-grand children, Grayson and Kinsley.

In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith “Skip” Phiffer; her brother, Floyd; and her sister, Violet.
