Timothy Robert Martenson of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away on July 31st at age 73.
While born in Eau Claire, WI, he grew up in New Hope, MN graduating from Robbinsdale Cooper High School. He served four years in the US Navy on the USS Ranger and was able to see Japan and the Philippines. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked as a pipe fitter for Minnegasco (now CenterPoint Energy) for 30 years. During this time, he also served 20 years as a volunteer firefighter for the Brooklyn Center Fire Department following in the footsteps of his father. He was a member of American Legion Post #630 and served as their gambling manager, so think of Tim if you buy a pull tab. Tim enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, summers at the cabin in Cable, WI, tinkering with and building things in his shed and spending time chatting with friends on the deck.
Tim is peceded in death by parents, Raymond and Elinor.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine; his three children, Brian (Sheila) Martenson, Valerie (Paul) Martenson and Craig Martenson; grandchildren, Oliver, Eleanor and Audra; brothers, Dennis (Catherine) Martenson and Randy Martenson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
