Sheri A. Smiley

Sheri A. Smiley, age 41, of Minong, WI passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

Sheri Alice was born April 17, 1980 in Duluth, MN the daughter of Michael and Janet (Glonek) Johnson.  She was raised in Superior, WI and in her youth she liked playing basketball and swimming with the family at their Crystal Lake near Wascott, WI.  Sheri graduated from high school in Superior and then did training to be a special education assistant.  She worked for the Superior School District for over a year and then took a job with St. Croix Casino in Danbury, WI.  While working at the casino, Sheri met David Smiley.  Sheri and David were joined in marriage on September 10, 2005 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Minong.  Sheri and David made there home in Minong and Sheri went to work for Northwood School District where she spent over 10 years working with children with disabilities.  Sheri enjoyed hunting for deer and grouse and going ice fishing.  Her family was extremely important to her.

Sheri is survived by her husband of 16 years, David; three sons, Xander, Carter and Aiden; parents, Janet and Michael Johnson of Gordon, WI; brother, Mark Johnson of Superior; sister-in- law, Tracy Smiley; niece, Allison and great niece Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Johnson.

A private prayer service was held for Sheri at the Solon Springs Funeral Home with Father James Kinney officiating.
