Ryan Becker Obituary

Ryan Leonard Becker, age 82, of Stone Lake, WI passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born March 26, 1943, to Leonard and Doris Becker, Ryan was the second of seven children.  He was raised in Ashland and Spooner, Wisconsin, growing up on the family farm and learning carpentry from his father.  On April 4, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart.

Ryan and Joan lived and worked in Richfield, MN for 10 years, where Ryan learned the drywall trade from his uncle Richard (Dick) Benson. They later moved their family to their home on White Fish Lake in Stone Lake Wisconsin.  Ryan worked in drywall for more than 40 years including many years as a business owner with several family members working alongside him. He and Joan were active at Shell Lake Full Gospel Church for many years and later attended the Hayward Wesleyan Church. Ryan enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends, playing and coaching softball, following his sons’ school athletic careers and elk hunting in Colorado.  He loved the peacefulness of lake life, working with his hands on countless projects both at his own home and for others, and had a special appreciation for coffee and a good piece of pie.

A calm and steady presence, and always quick with a witty joke, Ryan was the definition of a

faithful provider, modeling his faith, strong work ethic and generosity. He loved watching his family grow and found great joy in each new addition.  His grandchildren especially remember the countless rides he gave on the four-wheeler, lawn mower and pontoon.

Ryan is survived by his; five children, Kathy (Jeff) Stone of Woodbury, MN, Curt (Catherine) of Hayward, WI, Kent (Hillary) of Sioux Falls, SD, Chris (Kathryn) of Eden Prairie, MN, Kevin (Jennifer) Becker of Morristown, MN; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren (with two on the way), brothers, Rodney (Elizabeth), Robert (Christine), Lyndon (Lori). sisters, Doreen, Ramona (James), sister-in-law Cheryl Becker; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents, brother Darryl and brother-in-law Larry Mascarenas.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ryan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Hayward Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ben Kidder officiating. A time of gathering with family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
