Ruth Yvonne Lombard

Ruth Y. Lombard, age 86, a resident of Spooner, Wisconsin, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday August 3rd, 2026.  

Ruth was born on May 9th, 1940, to parents John & Theresa (Dahl) Schultz in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. She started her early school days in the Township of Madge, Wisconsin. After moving to Spooner, she continued her education becoming a member of the graduating class of 1958. It was there she met the love of her life, Robert Lombard, who she thought was ‘so cool’.  As she began her brief college career at UW Superior, Bob and Ruth eloped to Pine City, Minnesota on June 7th, 1960, & lovingly shared 55 years of marriage until Bob’s passing in 2015. Ruth loved being home and enjoyed her role as homemaker, wife & mother. She was fondly known to always be available to lend a hand, give advice, or share a cup of coffee around her infamous dining room table with her many friends.

Ruth is survived by her son, Anthony “Tony” (Perri) Lombard of Spooner, WI, grandson Joshua (Grace) Shervey of Duluth, MN, granddaughter Cait Lombard (Brandon Johnson) of Spooner & great grandchildren, Aris, Blake, & Eddie Rose Shervey, special friend Roger Scalzo of Rice Lake, WI, and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Ruth is proceeded in death by her parents John & Theresa Schultz, husband Bob Lombard, daughter Stacy Lombard, grandson Jordan Lombard, and brothers John A, Harris, Eugene, Thomas, & Kenneth, and sister-in-law Janet Lombard.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11th, 4-6PM at Spooner Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 12th at 11:00AM with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Spooner Wesleyan Church with lunch to follow. Interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
