Rose M. (Snell) Frisch

Rose Marie (Snell) Frisch passed away Friday April 17, 2026 at Aspen Acres Memory Care in Hayward from the effects of Alzheimer's at the age of 93.

Rose was born on February 17, 1933 in Sparta, Wisconsin to Irv and Cora (Ripley) Snell. The family later moved to the Moose Lake area of Hayward where her father was the dam tender for the Moose Lake Dam. Rose attended local schools and graduated from Hayward High School in 1950. She later moved to Milwaukee and worked in accounting. She married Marcus (Mark) Frisch on September 20, 1952. They settled in Brookfield Wisconsin where, together, they ran their business, Badger Weather Stripping, for over 40 years, with Rose being an exacting accountant and bookkeeper.  Marcus and Rose welcomed two sons, Marcus in 1953 and Todd in 1960. Rose was a lifelong lover of history and antiques as a founding member of the Kettle Moraine Questers and as a member of the Elmbrook Historical Society. Rose was a savage card player, excellent cook, avid reader and consummate hostess. In 1958, Mark and Rose built a home in the Moose Lake area where they had grown up. They retired to this home in 1996. Rose worked at Walmart in Hayward for many years and appeared to know everyone in the area by name. She will be remembered by many family and friends for her wit and great sense of humor.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Marcus II, son Marcus III., her parents Irv and Cora Snell, sister Marion (Jim) Manaugh, sister Marjorie (Joe) Wickersheim and sister Bonnie Nolte.

She is survived by her son Todd (Betsy) Brookfield; grandson Everett (Kine Trondheim), Norway;  granddaughter Annaliese, Milwaukee. She is also survived by her cousins Jean (Janusheske) Mattakat, Linda (Janusheske) Dombeck, nephew John (Sheila) Meyer, nieces Pat Harris, Cynthia (Craig) Stowell, Jackie Reynolds and Laurie (Peter) Nixon, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the Staff at Aspen Acres for their loving, kind and gracious care of Rose for the last 3 years. Sincere gratitude to Regional Hospice Service & Palliative Care for their gentle and loving care of Rose.

A memorial service will be held for Rose on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spider Lake Church, 12104 N Lower Twin Lake Road, with a visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow. Burial service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Regional Hospice Service & Palliative Care in Rose’s memory.
