Robert Haddick Obituary

Robert Anthony Haddick, age 96, of Springbrook, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward, Wisconsin. Born on October 21, 1929, in the Gull Lake area of Springbrook, he was the first-born son of identical twins to Henry and Victoria (Eckl) Haddick.

Growing up on the family farm, Bob dedicated his life to its upkeep. As a young boy, he worked alongside his family, who managed a self-sustaining farm that included Guernsey and Red Angus cattle, hogs, chickens, and fields of hay, oats and corn. Bob’s commitment to the family farm was unwavering, and he continued to farm throughout his life.

In addition to his farming, Bob held various community roles. He served as a fire warden for 46 years and was actively involved in the Gull Lake town board, land use committee for the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, and the Washburn County land and water conservation board. He also volunteered at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital and Water’s Edge Assisted Living for 40 years.

Bob was an active participant in the Washburn and Sawyer County fairs and shared his love of trout fishing, hunting, maple syrup time, and cultivating vegetables, grapes, and apples on his farm with everyone he met.

Family was at the heart of Bob’s life. He cherished his close relationships with his brother and all his nieces and nephews of each generation.

Bob is survived by his twin brother, William (Phyllis) Haddick, of Shell Lake, WI; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert is proceeded in death by his brothers, DuWayne Haddick, John, George, Lester, Lawrence, Leroy and Clifford Gagner, and his sisters, Evelyn, Blanche and Florence.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward, where the visitation will be held from 10 AM until the hour of Mass. He will be laid to rest next to his father in Saint Mary Magdalene Cemetery in a private ceremony.
