Richard A. Heuer

Richard A. Heuer, age 75, of Romeoville, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at his cabin in Birchwood, WI.

Richard Andrew Heuer was born October 12, 1946, in Oak Park, IL the son of Richard Henry and Laverne Marie (Hillgoth) Heuer.  He graduated from Lindblom High School in Chicago, IL and then attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL before beginning a career in sales.  On October 28, 1967, Richard was joined in marriage to Judith Ann McMahon at St. Christina Catholic Church in Mt. Greenwood, IL.  After working a short time for a box company, Richard began working for Sears in Oakbrook, IL.  He continued his career with Sears in Orland Park, IL where he would eventually retire from over 30 years later.  While working for Sears, Richard and Judy lived in Cicero, Bellwood, Woodridge, Homer Glen, and Romeoville, IL.  Richard was an excellent wood worker and carpenter.  He helped complete his cabin and his brother’s cabin in Birchwood, WI.  He also used his woodworking abilities to help many of his family members remodel their homes.  Richard enjoyed going fishing for crappies and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy; daughter, Deborah (Tim) Pierson of Lockport, IL; son, Richard H. (Jennifer) Heuer of Orland Park, IL; four grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Pierson, Cody and Summer Heuer; and several nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Heuer.

A memorial gathering will be held for Richard at a later date to be announced.  Interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, IL.
