Born February 2 1953 in Eau Claire, Randy Gutsch’s life will be remembered by many as a fisherman, hunter, Packer fan and a proud father. As a kid, he and his family often fished in Hayward, where Randy resided and was a guide for over 40 years on the Chippewa Flowage. His favorite place to spend the fall was in Solon Springs hunting and his winter months were spent gathering football fans together for a Packer party each week. Randy, a man of few words had a lifetime of stories and memories he shared as well as wisdom, or “tricks of the trade” as he would call them. Randy passed away on April 20th surrounded by family.
Randy is survived by his wife, Cindy, sister, Karen (Dave) Longmire, daughter, Sherry (Josh, Lindie) Maresca, stepdaughters, Amber (Jon, Logan, Madilyn, Alyssa and Emersyn) Voight and Jenny Schmidt (Chad).
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Olga, father, Willard, brothers, Wayne and Michael, daughter, April, and grandson, Brayden.
A memorial service celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th at the Spider Lake Church, 12104N Lower Twin Lake Road near Hayward, with a time of gathering with family and friends will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
