Priscilla J. Harsvick
Priscilla “Peggy” Harsvick, age 88, of Barnes, WI, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Hayward Health Services
Priscilla was born January 15, 1937, in Michigan the daughter of Henry and Lillian (Talbot) McKenney. Priscilla was one of twelve children and her family moved often throughout her youth. She graduated from Ashland High School in Ashland, WI in 1954. On October 13, 1955, Peggy was joined in marriage to Marvin Harsvick at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Superior, WI. Peggy and Marvin found a home on Amnicon Lake near Superior, WI to call home. Peggy was a homemaker raising her three children until they all were of school age. Peggy then began work as a lunch lady at the Superior Elementary School. In 1995, Peggy and Marvin moved to Barnes, WI and Peggy took a job with the Hayward School District in their food service. Peggy enjoyed knitting, gardening flowers and vegetables, refinishing furniture and listening to music. She was a wonderful cook, and her entire family loved her homemade rolls. Peggy was a member of the Barnes VFW Ladies Auxiliary and serviced as their 3rd Vice President. Peggy will be remembered for her smile and happy demeanor.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 69 years, Marvin; three children, Cynthia (Richard) Heintz of Gordon, WI, Pamela Ebel of Solon Springs, WI, Patricia Nordlund of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Schei of Menominee, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Daniel Ebel and Jon Nordlund; five sisters, Marlene, Eunice, Evelyn, Dorothy, and Patricia; and five brothers, Harold, Clifford, William, Ronald and Alvin.
A committal service will be held for Peggy at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township, WI with Pastor Bruck McKenney officiating. A time of gathering to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the VFW Hall in Barnes, WI.
