Phyllis Langland Obituary

Phyllis Carol Langland, 92, of Shell Lake went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born in Springbrook to John and Helen Allar and born again with salvation in Christ as a teenager at a revival with her sisters that shaped every year that followed. On June 1st, 1952, she married her true love, Harry. Their 61-year journey was a beautiful testament to their devotion, they were blessed with 4 children and 5 grandchildren who were the center of their world.

Phyllis poured her heart into her home. Her kitchen was a place of warmth. She was known for her Christmas candy and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. She was a loving mother who took pride in raising her family. She enjoyed tending to her strawberry patch and we all enjoyed pancakes with strawberry syrup. Mom was an excellent gardener and later in life took great pride in the flowers she displayed on her back deck.  Each morning she started her day with bible study and set aside time to pray for her family and friends. If we were worried or upset, knowing mom had us in her prayers was always a comfort.

Mom had a strong faith in God that sustained her throughout her life. She was a founding member of Long Lake Baptist Church and later joined Spooner Baptist church. Her sweet and kind-hearted personality touched all those that knew and loved her. We were truly blessed.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Lois (Mike) Geffre of West Fargo, ND; Leonard (Kari) Langland of Carmel, IN; Lisa (Jerry) Egbert of Sarona, WI; Charles Langland of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Kelsey Egbert, Jared Egbert, Brittany Langland, Eric Langland, Kaitlin Langland; siblings, Barb Hess and Laverne Allar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, her parents John and Helen Allar, brothers Grant, Jerry, and Lawrence; sisters Midge and Beverly.

Services will be held at the Spooner Baptist church on March 2nd. Join the family for visitation at 3 PM, funeral service to begin at 4:00 p.m. with dinner to follow.
