Patricia Johnson Obituary

Patricia “Pat” A. Johnson, age 80, a resident of Sarona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Pat was born on September 23, 1945, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to parents William and Opal (Lewis) Sanders, the youngest of five children.  She graduated high school on June 6, 1963, and was married to Raymond Johnson on October 19, 1963.

Pat had many jobs throughout her life.  She worked at the Onion Factory and Wright Products, both in Rice Lake.  She then worked at the Barron County Courthouse as a Deputy Clerk for many years before her retirement in 1998.

After her retirement, Ray and Pat began travelling with their truck and fifth wheel through the Western and Southwestern parts of the United States.  They would travel mostly to the Southwest where they would spend 6 months of the year in Arizona and 6 months in Wisconsin.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was happiest when she was around her family and friends.  She loved outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing, but most of all, she had a passion for trap shooting.  In her 10-year trap shooting career, she won 3 Wisconsin State Championship Titles.  Together they won the Wisconsin State Husband and Wife State Championship 2 years in a row in 1977 and again in 1978.   In 1979, she shot at the Las Vegas Nationals where she won nearly every event she competed in. During this time of her career, she was also shooting Nationally where she won many other titles as a singles shooter and also in couples, winning titles with her husband Ray.  Also in 1979, she was the very first woman to win the Ruby Jenner All Around Trophy at the Wisconsin State Championships being the High Overall Woman’s shooter in 3 combined events.

Pat is survived by her husband of 62 years, and high school sweetheart, Raymond, daughter Michelle (Ryan) Predni, granddaughter Brandi Predni, 1 brother, 5 sisters, daughter-in-law Lisa Johnson (Randy Douglas), her children and their families, and her two dogs that she absolutely loved- Annie and Holly.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Johnson, 3 brothers, and her father and mother-in-law Dale and Blanche Johnson.

A gathering of friends and family to remember and celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 3 to 6pm at the Spooner Funeral Home.  A private interment will take place at a later date at the Anah Cemetery near Spooner, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, Pat’s family would appreciate that memorials be given in her name to her family to contribute to their charity of choice at a later date.
