Oscar Bartlett Obituary

Oscar Jay Bartlett, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025 at his residence in Stone Lake, WI.  He was born on December 9, 1943 in North Port, MI, the son of Glen and Genevieve (Stoe) Bartlett.  He was united in marriage to Nancy Kay Berger on May 17, 1996 in the drive through of the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They have been soulmates for over 30 years. 

Oscar retired from the United States Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, firing the last shot of the Vietnam War from the USS Turner Joy in the Gulf of Tonka.  He later retired from TRW Automotive Plant in Winona, MN, where he served as a quality control engineer.  He and Nancy moved to Stone Lake, WI and enjoyed their home on Whitefish Lake.  He loved fishing, pontoon rides and taking long drive through the Northwoods to spot wildlife.  He also enjoyed gaming at the LCO Casino. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Bartlett of Stone Lake, WI; his children, Brian Andrew (Chrysta) Bartlett of Daytona Beach, FL, Ryan Lee (Jessica) Przybylski of Grantsburg, WI, Angela Lynn Bartlett of Cashton, WI, Sandy Kay Przybylski of Rochester, MN and Bob (Amy) Spencer of Cadillac, MI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Thomas (Rose) Bartlett of Layton, OK, Gail Jean Burris of Lansing, MI and Cindy Lou (Robert) Kemp of Lansing, MI; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

In addition to his parents, Oscar is preceded in death by his children, David and Jennifer Spencer. 

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Hayward Veterans Center.
