Norman Grubbs, age 86, of Hayward, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his home.
Norman was born on November 24, 1937 to parents Earl and Mary (Denninger) Grubbs. Norman graduated from Spooner High School. He married Betty Groat on March 29, 1958. Norman took a job driving truck that took the family out to Gary, IN, in 1960. In 1965 the family returned to the Hayward area where Norman began working on the Soo Line Railroad until his retirement in 1999.
Norman was an outdoorsman and loved spending his time hunting whitetail deer and grouse. He enjoyed ice fishing and tending to his lawn and garden. You could always hear Norm cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Stanberry Giants.
Norman is survived by his children, Steven (Sue) Grubbs, Darrell (Tammy) Grubbs, Russell (Lisa) Grubbs, Leslie Grubbs, Daniel (Brenda) Grubbs, and Debra (Rodney Piecuch); 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, DuWayne Grubbs; and siblings, Andrew, Gilbert, Earl, George, Howard, Arlan, Leola, Eileen, and Marie.
