We are saddened by the loss of Michael George Olsen, 79, on May 1, 2026.
Michael, or “Mick” to almost everyone, was the son of George and Harriet Olsen and the loving husband of his late wife, Londa Olsen. Mick passed away peacefully at Dove West in Eau Claire.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Olsen.
Mick is survived by his four children: Stephen Olsen, Jeremy LeMoine, Robert Olsen, and Brookelynn Olsen. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Markgren and Marilyn Liker; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; six nephews, two nieces, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mick served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Spooner for many years before later working at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
Mick was a devoted fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Duke Blue Devils. His favorite pastimes included watching sports and movies at home and spending time with his children, whom he loved very dearly.
Mick has gone on to be with his late wife, Londa, and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
A time of gathering will be held for Mick at the Spooner Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Following the gathering, a graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Spooner Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Moe-Miller American Legion Post #12 and the State of Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program.
