Merle Carlson

Merle Carlson, age74, a resident of Spooner, died at his home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Merle was born on October 30, 1950, in Cumberland, Wisconsin, to parents Leslie J. and Margaret E. Carlson.  He graduated from Cumberland High School and then served in the US Navy. He was married in Cumberland, WI on September 3, 1977 to Rene Amberson. Merle and family moved to Spooner where he worked at Horton Manufacturing, which was later re-named Nexen, and lastly at T&T Tool in Spooner.

Merle is survived by his wife Rene, daughters Adrienne (Chet Hagen) Carlson and Michelle Carlson, granddaughters: Veda Mosier, Avani Mosier, and Aster Hagen, sisters Fern Hagen and Jean (Michael) Galep, brother-in-law Darrell (Marge) Amberson, and many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. 

Merle is preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Carlson, nephew Dean Hagen, and brother-in-law Wayne Hagen.

A private graveside with Military Honors will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
