Mary A. (Wickey) Coblentz passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on June 10, 2026 in Spooner, WI. She was born Oct. 13, 1939 in Berne, IN to August D. and Emma (Schwartz) Wickey. She was married to Jacob Ray Coblentz on May 1, 1957. To this union were born 3 children- Christina (John) Gingerich, Cornelius (Andrea) Coblentz, and Tabitha (Gary) Knepp.
Jake and Mary moved their family from Berne, IN to Phoenix, AZ in 1968. In 1980 they bought property in Spooner, WI, across from their daughter, Christina. They spent many summers there watching deer, bears, and foxes in their backyard and winters in Phoenix with family and friends.
Mary was known for her impromptu and generous hospitality, singing with Jake, laughing at his oft-repeated jokes, and joining him at the job site. Her grandchildren eagerly awaited her arrival, knowing she was bringing dresses she had sewn, thrift store finds, baked goods, and candy. Her contagious laugh, godly example, and practical advice will never be forgotten. She was a member of Northwoods Mennonite Church.
Mary is survived by her 2 daughters, a daughter-in-law, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter. 5 sisters: Susan (John) Schmidt, Ruth (Dave) Beachy, Lucinda (Dan) Schwartz, Delila (Reuben) Miller, Clara (John) Eicher. A brother, Corneal (Lena) Wickey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, 5 brothers, 1 sister-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law.
