Mary Susan DeWitt

Mary Susan DeWitt, 81, passed away on June 7, 2025 at Cambridge Senior Living in Rice Lake.

Mary was born July 18, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to John and Laura (Reiter) Cooney.

She married Thomas E DeWitt on June 3, 1967 and they lived in Spooner most of their lives.

Mary loved sewing, quilting, reading and taking trips with her sister and friends. She also took great pride in making wreaths for Christmas for her home and family. Her and Tom will always be remembered by the yellow house on Oak Street during Halloween. She worked for the Indianhead Flower Shop and the General Store in Spooner.

She is survived by her sons Patrick (Brenda) and Andrew (Carla) and seven grandkids Jessie (Ernie) Robotti, Jacob (Annette) Johnson, Dayna Johnson, Dani (Ashlyn) DeWitt, Megan, Easton and Aubrey DeWitt. She also had six great grandkids Cadence, Addison, Mason and Madelyn Robotti and Eve and Casey Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, father and mother-in-law, Inky and Dorothy, and her brother John.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11am, at the Spooner Funeral Home with visitation on Friday, at the Funeral Home, from 10-11.
