Mari Sue Glassmaker, age 63, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Superior, Wisconsin. She was born on July 15, 1957 in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Margie (Anderson) Howe. Mari was united in marriage to David Glassmaker on May 12, 1979 in Waukon, IA.
Mari graduated from Waukon High School and went on to receive her LPN license through St. Mary’s nursing school in 1977. She worked as a nurse and caregiver through many communities and most recently at Mount Royal Pines in Duluth, MN. After moving to Solon Springs in 2012 with her husband, Mari learned to greatly enjoy the outdoors and especially loved fishing and four-wheeling. She also loved spending time doing crafts, reading, playing games, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mari is survived by her husband, David; her children, Bradley (Amy) Glassmaker of Solon Springs, WI, Jessica (Jeffrey) Breeden of Shakopee, MN, and Nathan Glassmaker of Solon Springs, WI; her grandchildren, Nick (Taylor), Elissa, Ethan, Carter, Alexis, Sabrina, and Cooper; two great granddaughters, Vivian and Skylar; her siblings, James (Mary Alice) Howe of Woodstock, IL, Gary (Debbra) Howe of Osage Beach, MO, Karen (Patrick) Whalen of Lansing, IA, Donald (Barbara) Howe of Waukon, IA; sister-in-law Denise Howe of Waukon, IA; her life-long friend, Patty Haler; and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Dolores Glassmaker; sister-in-law, Shirley Glassmaker; brother, Richard Howe; and two nephews, Daniel Howe and Mark Nalley.
A celebration of Mari’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
