Louis (Lou) Henry LeQue Obituary
Louis (Lou) Henry LeQue passed away June 13, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born October 12, 1939 to Louis W. and Gertrude LeQue. Lou was raised in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. After graduation, Lou went on to become a journeyman lineman and a proud member of the IBEW Local 160 for 41 years. Of those years, Lou worked 32 years for MJ Electric, becoming a project superintendent.
On July 5, 1986 Lou married the love of his life, Carol (Schult) LeQue in Durango, Colorado. After getting married, Lou convinced Carol to move to a cabin in Gordon, Wisconsin while they started to build their dream house in the woods. They were the proud owners of the Moose River Bar collectively for about 25 years.
While Lou loved to be in the woods hunting or on a lake fishing, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In the winters, Lou and Carol would spend their time at their home on Center Lake in St. Cloud, Florida so Lou could continue enjoying his passion for fishing.
He was a long-time member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Solon Springs.
He is survived by Carol, his wife of 36 years; his children Renee (Rick) Beberg, Roxanne (Kevin) Shackle and Leslie LeQue; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his brother Jerry LeQue. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Louis D. LeQue and sister-in-law Karen LeQue.
Services will be Monday, June 26, 2023 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 11405 S. First Street West, Solon Springs, Wisconsin. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Graveside service for family will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
