Lori Lynn (Atkinson) Klein

Lori Klein, age 62, a resident of Ramsey, MN, passed away in her home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, surrounded by her family after a 27-year battle with cancer.

Lori was born on March 16, 1962, in Shell Lake, to parents Robert and Nancy (Thompson) Atkinson.  She graduated from Spooner High School in 1980 and shortly thereafter, she and her sister moved to the Twin Cities.  She worked at the Minneapolis Civic Center before getting married in 1987.  In 1988, after the birth of their first child, the family moved to Ramsey, MN, where she and her husband started and operated their own business.  Two more children were born into this family.  Lori stayed home to raise the kids while also doing the bookkeeping for the family business.  With her family close at heart, she would travel back to Spooner nearly every weekend to visit them.  In 2001, she purchased a cabin in rural Spooner, so she could spend more time with them and be able to host her children and grandchildren. She absolutely loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved life and was known for her 4th of July parties at her cabin, reading, and doing puzzles and games.

Lori is survived by her children: Robert (Jessica) Klein, Peter (Ariana) Klein, and Jessica (Forest Conderman) Klein; grandchildren: Paul, Owen, Olivia, and Kaiden, sisters: Vicki (Sam) West, Cheryl Atkinson, and Jennifer (Matt) Reese; and many cousins, extended family and friends.

Lori is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Tenly.

Memorial services for Lori Klein will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Spooner Funeral Home.  A time of gathering for family and friends will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10-11 am. Interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery near Hertel.
