Lois Tews

Lois (Amos) Tews, age 93, of Spooner, WI, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Shell Lake Health Care Center.

Lois was born May 26, 1929, in Geneva, IL, to parents, Frank Amos and Hazel Pape. Lois attended school in Huntley, IL and went on to nursing school where she graduated from Sherman Hospital, where she continued to work as a registered nurse for 25 years. Lois married the love of her life, Richard Tews on September 30, 1950 and had two children together. After their retirement the couple moved to Spooner, WI. Lois enjoyed sewing, knitting, golfing, and fishing.

Lois is survived by her husband, Richard Tews; children, Tom (Terry) Tews and Sandra (Ken) Kowalski; grandchildren, Austin, Kristyn, Kevin, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Collin, Conrad, Evan, and Elton.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marlyn Eckman.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner, WI at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
