Lawrence T. Briggs, age 89, made his final loop around Moose Lake on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Larry was born on September 23, 1935, in Glen Flora, Wisconsin to Raymond and Hannah Briggs, the youngest of eleven children. Larry spent his younger years in the Moose Lake area before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he graduated high school in 1953.
Larry and Dorothy were married on July 18, 1959, in Franklin Grove, Illinois.
They moved back to Moose Lake in 1967, and started working construction, eventually forming Briggs & Sons Construction, building many homes in the area.
Larry loved all things about Moose Lake, often referring to it as “God’s Country”. He helped many friends, relatives and customers realize their dream of having a cabin or home in this beautiful area.
Larry is preceded in death by his son Bryan and all of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; son, Courtney of Hayward; daughter, Sue of Holmen; grandchildren, Tom, Jason, Joel, Michelle, Amanda, Melissa and Aaron; and great-grandchildren, Alyse, Brooklyn, Anthony, Layne, Roland and Bella.
Larry will be missed by his family, friends and community.
