Kathleen Kay Lehmann

Kathleen Kay Lehmann, 81, Spooner, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN surrounded by her family.

Kathleen was born on March 18, 1945 in Rockford, IL to Charles and Lillian (Heldreth) Friedli.  She graduated from Verona High School in Wisconsin. Kathleen worked as a waitress in her family’s restaurant when she was young before working for the State of Wisconsin in Madison.  She moved to Spooner Wisconsin and became a fixture at the Washburn County Veterans Service Office for over 20 years.  Kathleen loved her family and the veterans she served.  She opened her house for many years to host those that were involved in the Spooner Rodeo.

She is survived by her daughter Deanna (Ron) Stellrecht, Shell Lake, WI; twin brother James (Sandi) Friedli, Monroe, WI, sister Sonia Hustad, Juneau, WI, brother Jack (Ruth) Friedli, Rochester, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Lehmann,  brother Chuck Friedli and sister Mary Ellen Scott.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00am at Spooner Baptist Church W7135 Green Valley Road, Spooner, WI.  A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will be in the Spooner Cemetery.
