Karen A. Doll, age 81, of Hayward, WI passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward.
Karen was born August 1, 1943, in Amery, WI, the daughter of Anton and Emma (Schoepfer) Leisz. Karen was raised and attended school in Turtle Lake, WI, and graduated from high school there. After high school, Karen attended a beautician school in the Twin Cities. Karen was joined in marriage to Howard Ullom and together they were blessed with two daughters. Karen and Howard separated, and Karen moved to Barnes, WI. Karen worked for Downtown Barnes and many other places in Barnes as a waitress and bartender. Karen also worked in Hayward for Don Johnson Motors, Anglers Restaurant, and Cameron Coffee. Karen enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, watching Home Shopping Network, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her hard work ethic, strong will, and generosity.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Joe Girard) Ullom of Hayward; two grandchildren, Kyle (Alyssa) Friermood, Kevin Friermood; and three great-grandchildren, Paislee, Gracelynn, and Jace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Friermood; and brother, Raymond Leisz.
A time of gathering celebrating Karen’s life will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
