Junice “June” Hedlund Knoepke, age 96, a resident of Spooner, passed away on August 12th, 2025, peacefully in her sleep at Dove Health Care in Spooner, Wisconsin.
June was born on October 8, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois. June enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She compiled a cookbook of her favorite recipes which she gave to each member of her family. She also expressed her creative side through painting, drawing, and wood crafts. One of her many joys was playing Bingo with friends.
June is survived by her son Art (Becky) Hedlund of Spooner, daughter Nancy Hedlund of Spooner, daughter Cynthia (Ben) Lentz of Whitewater, Wisconsin, and daughter in law Char Hedlund of Spooner. Her memory lives on in her six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. June is also survived by her step children: Sharon (Bill) Walters of Cornell, Wisconsin, Mike (Mary) Knoepke of Spooner, and Mark (Julie) Knoepke of Siren, Wisconsin. She was grandmother to six step grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren.
June is preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Walter Reichel, step father Robert Larsen, son Glenn Hedlund, and husbands Art Hedlund Sr., and Allan Knoepke.
She will be missed by her family, extended family, and many friends.
As per June’s wishes, no services will be held.
