Julia E. (Byng) Flygstad

Julia E. Flygstad, age 84, passed away peacefully with her family close by on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Hayward Health Services, in Hayward, WI.  She was born on July 31, 1938, in Newbury England.  She was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Byng.  She was married to Allan Flygstad on February 23, 1957, in St. Mary’s Church in Newbury, England.

Just after she and Allan were married, she moved to the United States where they built their lives and raised their family. Julie loved entertaining and made everyone welcome in her home. She was extremely proud of her daughters and all of her grandchildren. She always had her bowl of M&M’s at the door for the Elskamp girls, Marin and Alaina and anyone coming in the back door! 

She is survived by her daughters, Kristin (K.C.) Friedrich of Sedalia, CO, and Jane Flygstad (Denny Patnode) of Hayward, WI; her grandchildren, Zachary Friedrich, (fiance Haley Jensen) Lauren Friedrich, Marin Patnode, and Alaina Patnode; her sister, Linda MacEachen and nephew, Calum MacEachen both of Milnathort Kinrosshire, Scotland. 

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan Flygstad; and her mother, Mary Taylor. 

A private Celebration of Life is being planned by the family.
