Joyce Anita Zubrod, aged 90, of Hayward, WI, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, surrounded by family in her home.
Joyce was born on July 25, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Kathryn Lord. She married Raymond E. Zubrod on June 30, 1956. She taught music lessons, was a homemaker and played in the Zubie Band for 24 years. She enjoyed listening to and playing music, watching wildlife in the backyard and spending time with family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Denise (Lance) Boyle of Hayward, WI; her son, Roy of Hayward, WI; in-laws, Robert Zubrod of Boulder City, NV, Jacki Homins of Crystal Lake, IL, Carol (Roger) Flanagan of Elgin, IL; Barbara from the Chicago area; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; an infant daughter; her parents; uncle and aunt, Roy and Mary Grimm; aunt, Ann Mages; uncle and aunt, Joe and Betty Karr; sister-in-law, Kathy Holich; and brother-in-law, Lance Homins.
At Joyce’s request, there will be no service, but a private gathering will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Essentia Health, Tamarack Health, Regional Hospice Services and Palliative Care, Heart of Compassion Hands to Serve, and special friends for the care Joyce received during her lifetime. Everybody was truly great.
