The man, the myth, the legend...
John Raymond Kiminski, age 67, passed away at his home in Sarona, WI on Oct. 12, 2025.
John (or Johnny, as many close to him lovingly referred to him as) was born on May 16, 1958 in Minnesota to Raymond and Rose (Martichuski) Kiminski. Although he was born in MN, his blood ran green and gold as he took great pride in his humble roots growing up in the country of Superior, WI.
John's life was rich in experiences and adventures. A man with inexhaustible energy, John pursued work that required such. Serving with the U.S. Marines in his late teens into early 20s (receiving numerous awards for his work ethic), followed by over a decade leading Alaskan fishing boats (beware the Kiminski ship if you weren't ready to work!), and his aptitude to fix most things was not only evident in his later occupation as Chief Millwright at the GM grain elevator but within the walls of his beloved home shop. Beyond John's industrious work history, he had great love for his grandkids, a gregarious nature, serious dancing prowess, deep respect for his Polish heritage, and a fondness for animals (especially his dogs). We will dearly miss his gentle and humble presence.
John is preceded in death by his Mother Rose (Martichuski) Kiminski, Father Raymond Kiminski, Brother Thomas Kiminski, Brother-in-law Rick Browen and cousin Ronnie Kiminski.
Survivors include his wife: Jennifer (Lyon) Kiminski; daughters: Alexandra Kiminski (Kevin Coupe) and Elizabeth Kiminski (Eduardo); three grandchildren: Isabella, Gabriel and Michael; stepson: Jordan Roerick (Tara) and their daughter Maisyn; sisters: Monica Browen of Superior, Wisconsin, Linda Hunter (Burt Hunter) of Wrenshall, Minnesota, sister-in-law Darla Kiminski of Missouri, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will take place at a later date.
