Helen Lucille (Sheehan) Hamlet

Helen Lucille Hamlet, age 87, formerly of Hayward, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in Hugo, MN.  She was born on February 8, 1939, in Spooner, WI, the daughter of Jerry and Annabelle (Lawrence) Sheehan.  She was united in marriage to Edward Thane Hamlet on March 11, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. 

Helen had a deep love of music and enjoyed playing the mandolin.  Her husband had his pilot’s license, and they spent many hours flying together.  They enjoyed travelling all over the countryside.  Most of all, Helen was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Douglas) Lemon of White Bear Lake, MN and Kevin Hamlet of Spearfish, SD; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marcy Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Donald Sheehan of Hayward, WI and Rick (Gloria) Sheehan of Hayward, WI; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Hamlet, and her brothers, Leonard and Raymond Sheehan. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 10680 Main St. in Hayward where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.    Luncheon to follow at the church.
