Harvey Gordon Helander

Harvey Gordon Helander, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Hayward Health Services in Hayward, WI.  He was born on July 13, 1937 in Illinois, the son of Erland and Ketty Helander.  He was united in marriage to Annette Barbara Molitor on June 27, 1959.

As a young man, Harvey worked as a carpenter in Northern Illinois.  He and Annette moved to Hayward, WI, where they owned and operated Moonahanis Resort on Spider Lake for 27 years.  Harvey continued working in carpentry and construction, building many homes and structures over the years in and around the Hayward area.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  Harvey became an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Paula) Helander of Hayward and Alan Helander of Radisson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Harvey is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette and his brother, Arnie Helander.

All services and interment will be held privately.
