Gregory Francis Garza

Gregory Francis Garza, age 69, of Spooner, WI, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Spooner Health in Spooner, WI.  He was born on April 14, 1954 in Gary, IN, the son of Louis and Gladys (Eckmann) Garza.  He was united in marriage to Janet Lee Hart on November 15, 2002.

Gregory worked for Bethlehem Steel in Gary, IN.  Once he moved north to Wisconsin, he was employed at Birchwood Lumber Company in Birchwood and American Excelsior in Rice Lake.  He enjoyed the Northwoods and loved to go fishing.  Gregory was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and was always up for a good walk.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Garza of Spooner; his sons, Robert Augesen, his wife Melissa, and Alex Augesen both of Fond Du Lac, WI; his grandson, Casper; his siblings, Rich Garza, Muriel Garza, and David (Judy) Garza; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Gregory is preceded in death by his sister, Maria Campbell. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Shell Lake Full Gospel Church, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.  Pastor Reg Myers will officiate.  A luncheon will follow the service.  Interment will be private.
