Glenda Eck Obituary

Glenda Mae Eck, 69, of Winter, WI, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI.

Glenda was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on November 10th, 1954, to Glen and Patricia Moore. She then graduated from Bloomington High School in 1972 and went on to Southwest Tech in Fennimore, WI for a degree in retail sales.

In 1974 she started working at Scheer’s in Hayward, then as a server at Ross’ Teal Lake Lodge. There she met the love of her life Ken Eck and left the resort to raise her two children. She then returned to Ross’ and became head cook for over 20 years. She continued working for them until 2014.

Glenda also loved watching sports, especially when she could see her grandkids playing them. She also always cheered on the Winter Warriors and the Green Bay Packers every chance she could. She also enjoyed playing darts, golfing, crocheting and crafts. Glenda will always be remembered for her smile, sense of humor and caring nature.

She leaves behind sons, Rob Eck, Randy (Rhiannon) Eck, stepsons John, Rick, Greg, Brian, Bill, and Paul. And “The Daughter She Never Had,” Jen Marten. Grandchildren, Julia Eck, Dayton, Jaxon, and Henley Eck. Sisters Carol Giombi, Robin (Mike) Shroeder, brothers Dale Moore and Ron (Donna) Moore, and many loving friends, nieces, and nephews. She also was “mom” to countless summer exchange students from all over the world who worked at Teal Lake Lodge. Glenda spent the last few years in the company of her special friend Jim and her little dog, Barney.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Dave Moore, stepdad Jake Weaver and stepdaughter Judy Kramer.
