Georgia Granfors Obituary

Georgia Ann Granfors passed away peacefully and comfortably Sunday, June 21, 2020 at her home in Barnes, WI with beloved son Bryan and
daughter-in-law Kris at her side. Georgia's life with brain cancer was
inspiring; her determination to remain independent at home in the
company of her loyal dog, Bennett, many deer, hummingbirds, butterflies,
eagles and squirrels was her mission; Mission Accomplished.

Georgia grew up in Lake Nebagamon, having participated in the area
pageant as a teen, she sold the most buttons certainly due to her
outgoing personality, charismatic smile, and beautiful eyes. Raising her
kids in South St. Paul, MN, she was the last employee at Armour Foods
following the closing of that plant. She loved the adventure of working
at Wipaire, Inc., Inver Grove Heights, MN, and having successfully
operated a bar and grill on the Mississippi River in the 1990's (her new
career at age 59) the northwoods called her name, and Georgia returned
to Northern Wisconsin, bought her home the lake, and purchased Georgia's
Bar-n-Grill (formerly Skoglund's) on Ellison Lake Road. Georgia loved
her vocation; her _Happiness is Homemade_ slogan brought loyal customers
great satisfaction over the years. She was proud to see her legacy
continue with Bryan and Kris at the helm.

Georgia is survived by her children, Gary Granfors of Webster, MN, James
Granfors of Afton, MN, Connie Regan (Tom) of Melbourne Beach, FL, and
Bryan Granfors (Kris) of Barnes, WI; her grandchildren, Jake (Rachel),
Jackie (Dustin), Emma, and Jesse, and great-grandchildren Easton,
Beckett, Lyndon and Eleanor (Jackie and Dustin), Ridley and Raimey
(Emma), and Katelyn (Jake and Rachel), her brothers Bernie (Lu), Wayne,
sisters Lynda and Ardie, her Aunt Vickie, many cousins, nieces, nephews,
lifelong and new friends in the Twin Cities and the Barnes area. Georgia
is preceded in death by her mother, Rosa, and brother, Les.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Georgia's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital or the excellent Regional Hospice in Hayward. We wish
to convey our deepest gratitude for the many prayers and well-wishes
throughout these 4 years. We are grateful for the rainbows present
across the skies in both Wisconsin and Florida the day before and of her
passing, and for the friends who shared those rainbows with us.
