George Roland Robertson

George Roland Robertson, age 91, of Cable, WI, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.  He was born on July 24, 1931, in Grandview, WI, the son of Milo and Viola (Heath) Robertson.  He was united in marriage to Nancy Stampfl on February 11, 1956.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in the Signal Corps during the Korean War.  George had a long career as a lineman for the county of Milwaukee, before moving back to the Cable area in 1967 where he worked for many years as a green’s keeper on a private golf course, School bus driver, and Assessing for the town of Grandview. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his lifelong friends.  He also enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing Yahtzee and card games with dear friends.

He is survived by his children, John (Sherrie) Robertson Bouse, AR and Anita Robertson of Cable, WI and his grandchildren, John Gibson, Robert (Katie Ann) Robertson, and Nancy Ruth; his sisters, Marilyn Wickman of Prue, OK and Marjorie Ramlow of Oconomowoc, OK; his special friends, Paul and Gerty Kneeland; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy (Stampfl) Robertson; and his brothers, Sydney, Richard “Duke”, and Harold “Hans” Robertson, as well as many dear friends and family.

 A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
