Gary Fritz

Gary Steven Fritz, 65, of Spooner Wisconsin, formerly of Clara City Minnesota, died on May 24, 2022.

Steve was born on June 1st, 1956 in Alhambra California to Gary Irvin and Carolynne Fritz.  They moved around the country, ending up in Clara City Minnesota.  He graduated from Clara City High School in the class of 1974.  Afterwards, he served two years in the United States Navy.  On April 7th, 1979, he married Dianne Rasmussen in Benson Minnesota. He was a long distance truck driver for a few years then went back to school, to Wilmar Tech, graduating with a degree in accounting in 1982.  He was offered a job at Nexen, holding various positions for over 35 years. Steve and Dianne moved to Spooner in 1984.

His hobbies included gaming on the computer (World of Warcraft), bowling, and playing with his grandkids. He loved to go deer hunting in the fall.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne; his children: Stephanie Butenhoff (Matthew Golke), Edward Fritz, and Jerremy Fritz; his grandchildren: Darien Butenhoff, Aiden Marucha, Dantae Marucha, Jonathan Fritz, and Addison Fritz; sister Gaelynne VandenBosch, brothers John Fritz and Eric Fritz, and other extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gary and Carol, and an infant brother, Edward.

Service will be held at Spooner Wesleyan Church on June 4th. Visitation at 10 am, service at 11, with dessert fellowship to follow.
