Esther E. Rondeau

Esther E. Rondeau, age 90, of Cable WI, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023, at the Northern Lights Health Care Center in Washburn, WI.

Esther was born August 19, 1932, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Alfred and Edith (Knudsen) Pedersen.  She moved with her family to Cable, WI where she graduated high school several years later.  She attended the University of Wisconsin, Superior and then received a medical technician’s degree through St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.  On April 2, 1955, Esther married Thomas Rondeau in Cable.  Together, Esther and Tom operated Rondeau’s Shopping Center in Cable for many years.  Esther enjoyed sewing and making quilts with her quilting group.  She also liked to work in her flower garden.  Esther loved her family dearly.   

Esther is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas; her children, Carol (Randy) Fredrikson of Sebring, FL, James (Cheryl) Rondeau and Brett (Bonnie) Rondeau both of Cable, WI; son-in-law, Al Lang of Drummond WI; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lang; grandson, Ben Rondeau; brother, Raymond Pederson; and sister, June Jerome.

A Memorial Service for Esther will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Cable United Church of Christ in Cable, Wisconsin.
