Elwood "Woody" Godman

Elwood “Woody” Godman, age 81, of Hayward passed away on Wednesday, July 22nd at his family cabin on Lac Courte Oreilles.  The lake was a part of Woody’s life since he was a child.  Every morning he was at the cabin, you could find him sitting at the end of the dock, drinking his coffee and looking out over the lake.

Woody had this way of turning life’s little moments into unforgettable memories.  He knew how to help turn the twists of life into something positive.  Even though you could never reach him by telephone, you always knew where you could find him.  Woody could talk to you for hours; he would listen to you for hours. 

His greetings to friends left no doubt that Woody was nearby; no one ever mistook those greetings as coming from anyone else.

Woody’s presence and voice will remain a part of the lives of his wife, Carol, his son, Bryon (Heidi), his daughter, Tracy, his three grandsons, Wade, Tyler, and Brett, his brother, Guy, his sisters, Mary and Sally, and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Deke, and his sister, Barbara.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
