Elizabeth Marion (Petersen) Webber

Elizabeth “Liz” Webber, age 91, of Hayward, WI and formerly of Cable, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Hayward Health Services.

Elizabeth Marion was born March 25, 1933, in Plato Center, IL the daughter of Christ and Marie (Thorgesen) Petersen.  She started her schooling in a one-room schoolhouse until moving onto Elgin High School.  On March 24, 1950, Liz was joined in marriage to Donald Webber in St. Charles, IL.  As Don was in the Navy, the couple moved to Pensacola, FL where Don was stationed.  When Don had to go overseas, Liz moved back to Illinois.  After his military service Don joined her in Elgin, IL.  Liz was a homemaker raising her two children.  In 1980, Liz and Don moved to Cable, WI.  Liz and Don worked together in their own property management service.  In Cable, Liz continued her enjoyment of decorating their home for holiday gatherings with family and friends.  They were members of the First Lutheran Church in Hayward. 

Liz is survived by her two children, Robert (Pamela) Webber of Drummond, WI, Deborah (David Alley) Webber of Sister Bay, WI; and several nieces, nephews and her granddogs. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and two brothers, Stanley and Elmer Petersen.

A memorial service celebrating Liz’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Hayward Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Jensen officiating.  A time of gathering will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. that morning.
