It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of Earl Lee “Lobby” Haase, of Hayward, formerly of Beloit, WI who departed this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the age of 89.
Lobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a loyal friend and a proud veteran whose life was defined by service to his country, his community, and his family. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp and carried that same sense of duty and honor into every aspect of his civilian life.
Beyond his service, Lobby was known for his boundless warmth and quick wit. He had a gift for making people laugh, whether through a well-timed joke, a playful tease or simply finding humor in the everyday moments of life. He was a member of the Rock County Anglers and the Marine Corp League of Beloit. Lobby dedicated himself to improving the lives of others through his volunteer work, giving countless hours to the Special Olympics, Toys for Tots, Fishing Has No Boundaries for 38 years, and the Eric Lowry Skate Park. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Later in life he enjoyed woodworking and painting birds.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Donna; children Lonna (Thom) Manthe of Stone Lake, and Laurie Schaff of Brodhead, WI; grandchildren Robert (Holly) Davis, Lennon (Linsey Drake) Manthe, Gaian Carr-Manthe, Brian (Amy) Schaff, Krista (Jason) Schaff, and Cody (Sidina) Schee; many great-grandchildren; siblings Bertha (George) Neumueller and David Haase; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Byron and Ida (Large) Haase; brothers Robert, Richard and Frank and sister, Mary Alice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Veterans Community Center 10534 Main St. Hayward, WI from 1:00-5:00pm with a service of remembrance at 1:30 and military honors at 2:00pm
