Donna Lou Pokorny

Donna Lou Pokorny, age 80, of Sarona, WI, passed away on April 6, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire.

Donna was born August 2, 1941, in Rice Lake, WI, to parents Joseph and Evelyn (Stodola) Hauck. Donna graduated from Rice Lake High School and began work at the telephone office. Donna married the love of her life, Norm Pokorny, on November 7, 1959, in Spooner and the couple lived there briefly before moving to Aurora, IL. After a short while in Illinois, the couple settled in Sarona where Norm ran Norm’s Mobile and Donna would cut hair in the back. Donna later began working at Larson Chiropractic in Spooner as a chiropractic assistant for many years. At the age of 50, Donna took classes and became a licensed beautician and started Donna’s Hair Design out of her home. Her love for doing hair and strong work ethic kept Donna busy into her later years of life.

Donna enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, fishing, hunting, and dancing. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother that was both caring and strong willed.

Donna is survived by her husband, Norm; children, Cindi, Wanda, and Norman II; brothers, David, Dale, Frank, Jerry, Patrick, and Louie; sisters, Patricia, Joanne, and Bonnie; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mavis and Lanaye; and granddaughter, Shania.

A visitation for Donna will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spooner Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at the Sarona Cemetery.
