Donna Jean Fink, age 92, a current resident of Eau Claire, WI and formerly a long-time resident of Solon Springs, WI, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire from the progression of Alzheimer's.
Donna was born July 8, 1931 in Superior, WI, the 10th child of Jeremiah and Florence (Lobb) Noonan. She graduated from the former East High. She married Charles Fink December 15, 1956. They moved to Solon Springs in late 1962. They resided in Solon until moving to Cedar Ridge Assisted Living in Superior in late 2018. In May of 2022 Donna moved to Eau Claire.
Donna enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. She also liked singing in the church choir at the Presbyterian Church in Solon as well as the Woodtones, a women’s musical group. Donna worked for many years at the grocery store in Solon. She looked forward to annual bus trips to Florida with Charlie and helping with the American Legion Auxiliary projects. According to her grandchildren, Donna Made the best applesauce ever.
Donna is survived by her children, Jeanine (Dave) Maenner, Mike (Linda Trepanier) Fink, and Renee (Dave) Vaara; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; her brothers, Gerald, Harry, Jack, Lawrence “Buzz”, and William; her sisters, Dorothy Mahoney, Corrine McDonald, Marian Van Overeiren, and Beatrice Sislo; her brother-in-law, Robert Fink; and in-laws, Julius and Katie Fink.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Solon Springs Funeral Home, 9005 E. Biller Loop in Solon Springs, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will take place at 1:30 P.M. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI
The family would like to express thanks to St. Croix Hospice for the care and compassion they showed mom. Thanks also go to staff and care givers at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire and Cedar Ridge Assisted Living in Superior, and a special thanks to Scott, Jen, Becky, Leroy and countless other friends and neighbors who did yard work, snow removal and other acts of kindness.
