Dean Pooler Obituary

Dean Allen Pooler, age 70, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 surrounded by his family at his residence in Lake Nebagamon. Dean was born January 12, 1950 the son of John and Helen (Carothers) Pooler in Superior, WI. He was united in marriage to Lucy Woodhull on November 9, 1970.

Dean served in the United States Army from July, 1968 to July, 1971 and in that time he spent two tours in Vietnam. After returning home he worked at Burlington Northern Railroad and would spend his winters cutting pulp. Dean and his brother David started Pooler Construction doing concrete foundations, basements, and moving houses for many years. He enjoyed helping people, gardening with his wife and hunting with his family. Dean’s sons have many times said they are happy dad taught them how to work. Dean was a hard worker and an exceptional man who loved his family and was respected and loved by all his friends and family.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy; his children Michael (Debbie) Pooler of Poplar, WI, Connie Hardee of Bennet, WI, Matthew (Robin) Pooler of Lake Nebagamon, WI, William (Rici) Pooler of Lake Nebagamon, WI and Marissa Pooler  (Josh Balde) of Lake Nebagamon, WI; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his siblings Jack (Bunny) Pooler of Solon Springs, WI, David (Yvonne) Pooler of Lake Nebagamon, WI, Ed (Terry) Pooler of Poplar, WI, Rick (Linda) Pooler of Bennet, WI, and Joanne (Kevin) Ohara of Lakeside, WI; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Clay Hardee; his grandson, Mikey Pooler; and his granddaughter, Angel Pooler.

A committal service with military honors will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
